Students of the Bakerview Music Academy have a home where they make new friends and learn exciting new skills. If they’ve had a bad day, the Academy is a safe place to rest with encouraging teachers and volunteers; after a good day, it’s a place to celebrate and push for the next level in music! Students will be connected with their teachers and classmates, learning to act as a family and treat others with kindness and respect while they make music and learn new skills together.
For children in Grades 2-3, our BMA Junior Academy runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:45-5:00 pm. Students get a healthy snack and take classes in Orff and choir, learning how to read notes, use their voices, and cooperate to make music together.
For kids in Grade 4 and up, our BMA Senior Academy runs on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:45-5:15 pm. Students get a healthy snack and take classes in choir, musicianship, and their string instrument (violin, viola, or cello). They also play in our orchestra.
