Rafael Brisebois, Assistant Teaching Artist – Violin/Viola

Rafael is a 17-year-old pianist, violinist, violist, and composer from Mission, BC. Music has been his main passion from a very young age, and he had the good fortune of starting music studies at Music Language Studios in Mission at age 4 in piano. He then studied violin at age 7, viola for the last several years, and he has been Principal Violist of the Abbotsford Youth Orchestra since 2019.  Rafael is an enthusiastic and experienced performer. He has performed several solo concerts as well as with many ensembles over the last decade. Rafael achieved First Class Honours with Distinction on his Grade 10 RCM violin practical exam. He has won many awards locally, provincially, and nationally -- as well as one international prize -- for his instrumental virtuosity and his compositions.
